Ministries offers eight styles of binding in four popular book sizes, 4 1/4
inches by 7 inches, 5 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches, 8 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches,
and 6 inches by 9 inches.
The
minimum number of pages for a perfect bound book is 24. You will have to select
one of the other binding styles if your book contains less than 24 pages. Since
we print both sides of the page, this means that a 24 page book only has 12
sheets of paper. You also have to have a minimum of 60 pages perfect bound
before there is room for printing on the spine. The maximum number of pages in
our pricing calculation is 700. (For perfect bound, 8-1/2 x 11 inch books, the
maximum size is limited to 245 pages. For case bound, the minimum number of
pages is 50. 8 x 10 case bound books can not be over 410 pages.)
Perfect
Binding
Perfect binding is a form of adhesive binding and is a free option for our
books. This binding is sometimes called a "soft cover", which is similar to a
paperback novel binding. It is excellent for books, corporate reports, manuals,
brochures, and annual reports. The advantages are: versatile, printable spine,
longevity, overall look and visual appeal. A printed spine requires a minimum of
60 pages to allow room for the printing. Minimum pages to perfect bind are 24.
For 8-1/2 x 11 inch perfect bound books, the maximum size is limited to 245
pages.
3-Ring
Padded
Winder
Ministries offers 3-ring binders with a custom printed cover for the 5 ½ x 8 ½,
book size only
The binders have a padded cover that can be printed in full color. All covers
have Plastic lamination, for extra durability. Cover designs should be designed
using the template for the binder size that will fit your book. The 5 ½ x 8 ½
binder is available in two sizes, ¾ inch and 1 inch. The ¾ inch will hold 95
sheets of 60# paper or 190 pages (cover template). The 1 inch will hold 115
sheets of 60# paper or 230 pages (cover template). This size of 3-ring binder is
perfect for daily planners, books that you plan on adding pages to at a later
date, training manuals or cookbooks.
Plastic
Comb Binding
This
binding has flaps that open for pages. This type of binding is excellent for
reports, reference materials, documents and cookbooks. The binders are offered
in black, white, or red. The advantages are: the greatest capacity of any
mechanical binding, the ability to interleaf pages, and pages can be changed.

for reports, brochures, children's books, high-tech manuals, cookbooks, and
reference materials. The advantages to this binder are that it's: durable,
crushproof, clean, modern looking, and it allows your book to open flat. The
maximum number of pages for this binding style is 350.
Double
Wire Binding
Books
bound with double wire spiral binding (also called twin wire) use a continuous
hinge of double loops of wire to hold the book covers and leaves together.
Applications: upscale brochures, reference manuals, cookbooks, and calendars.
Advantages: very durable, lays flat, more finished look than spiral binding. The
maximum number of pages for this binding style is 350.

Case/Hardback
Binding
Cased
hard cover binding is the highest quality binding available. The 80# printed
sheet is glued on heavy board to make a smooth outside cover. The cover can be
printed in color or black and white. The book block is then attached to the
inside of the board making a very durable book cover. We currently do not offer
dust jackets or cloth covers and we only offer 5.5 x 8.5, 6 x 9 and 8 x 10.5
(not 8.5 x 11) three sizes. Please keep in mind that the case/hardback bound
order production time is longer than our standard turnaround time, the minimum
order is 50 copies at minimum 20 pages for each copy, the maximum number of
pages is 410
